FAQ
How do I apply Jackal Tape?
Jackal Tape requires HEAT to apply. Whether that's from your hand or something else. Because Jackal Tape is great at not gunking up your gun when it's removed, you must make sure to apply it correctly so it doesn't get loose. First, clean and dry the surface. When you start taping, make sure you very firmly press down every inch of tape you apply. Make sure the tape touches as much surface area as possible. Do not unstick it after you apply it. Because we have just the right amount of adhesive on it, it can lose its required amount of stickiness if you unstick the end of your wrap job and try to reapply it. If you have to undo any portion of your tape, just take it all off and reapply a new strip.
The end of the tape gets loose after I wrap it. How do I fix this?
This is completely normal. Our goal is to make sure your gun isn't covered in a sticky disaster after you remove the tape. Don't worry, after one range day the heat from your hand should help the adhesive set so the end won't come loose anymore. If you're wrapping something you won't be holding at the range like a magazine, then hold it in your hand firmly with the tape on it for anywhere from 5-20 minutes. If for some reason doing these things still don't stop the end from getting loose, you can use a hair dryer or heat gun to heat up your wrap job. After it is warm just press firmly all around the taped area. This will 100% resolve any loose ends and you can opt to do this right away when you get your tape.
Does your tape leave a residue when it's removed?
No it doesn't but you must remove it correctly. When removing your tape make sure to remove SLOWLY and remove it after its had time to cool off. Removing it too fast or removing it after you've been handling it can sometimes leave some residue left over. Our adhesive is a "hot melt" adhesive so the warmer it is, the more likely it is to leave residue if removing. When you're holding it awhile, the heat from your hand heats up the adhesive, so let it cool.
What is the length of Jackal Tape?
Jackal Tape is 59 feet long by 1.5 inches wide to ensure you have enough to wrap everything you need with one roll.
